First half of the National Cathedral pics. I have a weakness for Gothic architecture, and for photographing churches and sculptures, which is why I took a whole two rolls of film. These are just the best, though.
Still though, you think two rolls of film was bad? When we went on our famed New Orleans/New Mexico/Oklahoma/Kentucky road trip vacation, I took no less than fifteen rolls. We were gone just under two weeks, so that's an average of over one roll per day. I took an entire fucking roll of the sky when we hit Texas, and half a roll of the sandstorm in New Mexico (desperately hanging onto the sliding door so I wouldn't be swept off the balcony), and at least three rolls in the St. Louis Cemetery #1.
Am a total photography whore. But I got some really great shots on that trip

This is the front as we approached it, although it could be the back for all I know. The smudges are from the scanner.

I would've been happier with this if the clouds had been in the empty space instead of behind the building, but ah well. Flying buttresses!

I like taking pictures where the subject fills more or less the entire frame. Pleased with the angles -- of...that lower part, there (oh yeah, I paid attention in art history) and the shadows of the buttress.

This one I like because it sort of wraps around the center of the frame, which is a nice contrast to the little cloud whorls. I think I took this when we were walking along the side.

LOOKIT THAT WINDOW. It's awesome. Not the rose window, the one below it.

This was an iron door somewhere around back. I'm assuming it tells a Biblical story, with angels no less, but fuck me if I can tell which one.

Okay. Okay. I felt incredibly bad about taking pictures in here, because it was an actual little chapel in the crypts. Though I may not subscribe to any religion myself, I respect all holy places, and it seemed kind of dickish to take pictures of a chapel, although there was no one in there. But I couldn't help myself -- look at that fresco! The mosaic on the opposite wall is even more beautiful, but it's in the next batch.
