Alrighty, HH folks. I've got an itch to do a little drabble series revolving around the end of "Retribution" (I will eventually run out of things to say about this corner of the 'verse. Probably.) and I need to do some brain-picking, not having the movie on hand any longer. Help a gal out? The first one is most important. The rest -- I can make all that crap up, but I'd rather not be contradictory to history/canon if I can help it.
I'll put it behind a cut-tag, since it does contain spoilers.
1. Sequence of events as best I can remember it -- Horatio goes to the cell, Clive tells him to take as much time as he needs then exits. He has the conversation with Archie, ending with "See? Better already" and then TEH SAD SADNESS. We see Horatio sitting beside Archie's body, then it's night and the bed is empty but he hasn't moved (although was his chair moved back?). In the next scene, Horatio is elsewhere with Pellew. Do we know where they went? And is the rest of that more or less accurate?
2. Are Archie and Bush kept in a makeshift hospital cell in a prison, or in a prison cell at a hospital? Where is it in relation to where the trial is taking place (I'm assuming that would be a fort)?
3. Someone obviously comes and gets the body. Would Clive do that, or would there be an undertaker available? (I'm hoping it's the latter because I want to put him in the fic.)
4. It's the doctor who helps Archie to the courtroom, right?
5. Were the rest of the sailors gathered outside awaiting the verdict?
Sheesh. You wouldn't think something of 600-700 words would require so much preparation.
Presentation on Germinal was...crappy. Not due to the fact that we were unprepared, but simply because it was clear that only a few people had actually read the 500-page novel. So when question time rolled around, we stood up there silently imploring hands to rise up. It was so frustrating, and I lovelovelove the four or five people who just chattered away (especially those I know damn well didn't read it). But at least that's over with. Now all I have to do is...invent a topic and write a paper. Fabulous. I actually really enjoyed Germinal, or would have if I hadn't gotten down to 11:30 last night with three hundred and fifty pages left to go. At least I'm a wicked speed reader, when I need to be.
Week's virtually over! Just Richardson tonight and Bio tomorrow WOOT. I lived through another one.
