1. Just finished watching "Keeping the Faith" for the umpteenth time. One of my favorite movies, tied with "When Harry Met Sally" for my favorite romantic comedy of all time. It's ridiculous that I haven't bought this movie. I've rented it no less than three times, that ought to add up to the DVD price. It make-a me happy.
2. The power went out today, leaving me to a nice chill-out session on the couches in Monty, where I had a conversation with Richardson, my Methods professor, about...
3. Horatio Hornblower. I started Mr. Midshipman Hornblower today and I'm already about a hundred pages into it. I think I'm in love, ya'll. Also, the chapter I am reading now is titled..."Hornblower and the Queer Man." I am WELL AWARE that the term did not have its modern-day connotation in the 18th century, and probably not in the period when Forestor wrote them ('30s? '40s? Daddy told me but I forgot). STILL. It is FUNNY and AWESOME.
4. After the power came back on, I dragged ass to Art History, which would have been cancelled with the power out because we need the slide projector to conduct the class. And lo, forty-five minutes into class, just as we were brainstorming for an comparision essay, the power blew agan. Ha. I used the extra time and lack of power to mentally caress poor-baby-Horatio.
5. Tomorrow is Friday! Just one hour-long class!
6. On Saturday Ness and I are driving up to visit her friend Allison at McDaniel. This means that I'll get to drive for an extensive period of time and also that we'll be stopping at home on the way back Sunday, because hey, my car, my call.
7. It's one weekend closer to spring break. And, yeah, mid-terms, but at least they'll be out of the way. And hey! I just remembered! Beth's baby should be here by then! I'll get to see the newest addition to our gigantic family! That counts as a sub-reason, though, because it ties in with break.
8. I'm feeling ready to write the Norrington!striptease!scene for "Nail." Okay, it's not really a striptease, but it's Jack's turn at POV so he'll take what he can get. I won't be able to write all weekend, but I'll have plenty of time to work on it tomorrow -- and I'll even have the room to myself because Vanessa's got some meeting-thing, which is why we're leaving Saturday morning rather than Friday afternoon. Hmm. Perhaps I will work on "North and South" at that time. It's very difficult to write smut with my fundie roomie sitting two feet away from me playing worship music. I can do it, it just turns me into a nervous wreck.
9. BWAHA. Ness has just informed me that Joe (the giant stuffed gorilla Michelle gave Dad at his surgery and he passed on to me), who I had propped up on the bed so we could use both the planet chairs at the same time, looked like he was bent over my American government book reading it. So we opened the book up, put my glasses on him, set Stitch beside to hold the book open, and took pictures, making sure to angle it with my poster of John Belushi in his Bluto college sweater in the background. If I can figure out how, I'm so making it into an icon.
So yeah, good day :)
