I'm trying to decide whether I should be flattered or offended that Vanessa asks if I want to come to Bible study with her once every few weeks. Does she just think I look bored or is she trying to reform me? The world may never know. There was a prayer session held here last night and I was very relieved that my name didn't come up -- probably cause I was in the room, yeah, but still. I don't want to come off as anti-religious or anti-prayer, because I'm not in any wayshapeorform, but Ness and Anya sitting there and praying out loud kind of weirded me out. I mean, who does that? If I were praying I would be really uncomfortable laying my heart all bare in front of other people.
I'm also trying to, not write my paper, not do the necessary research, but just to PICK A FUCKING TOPIC.
I'm sorry, just don't give a flying fuck about any of these books, and one of them happens to be my least favorite ever, so I'm having real trouble summoning the will to care enough to chose something to write about.
And all the topics blow. I'm leaning towards the one that's basically pick a theory of alienation and use three of the four novels to...I don't know, say something about it -- Silex is not terribly clear. Because then I could leave out The Stranger, even though it's blessedly short and would be far easier than either Heart of Darkness or Invisible Man. Yeah, I really do hate it that much.
::mutters:: Stupid existentialists. And the whole anti-hero thing or whatever the class is supposed to be about. I actually miss Wilson, horribly boring though he was. Ugh. A day and a half, a day and a half....
