Renn Faire was much with the awesome. Was very sad to not have my costume, so I sewed the missing buttons back on my boobtacular blue blouse and busted out my gray Jeans That Make My Butt Look Good. Which fit better than when I bought them, so yay for aerobics. Vicky drove, trying not to hit the Amish 100 bikers on the way out of town (why is a bike race named for the Amish? I just don't know) and we got there in about an hour and a half. Wandered around for awhile, ate, watched some shows, ate, shopped, got separated from Vicky and Matt and had to search the crowds for Matt's orange hat, ate some more. Seriously, I had enough food today to carry me through the rest of the weekend. I can't help it! It's all delicious, and there's so much of it, and it's stuff you know you're not gonna taste again for a whole year. Fried pickles and soup in a bread bowl and flat sheets of beef jerky and cheesecake on a stick and turkey legs and steak on a stake and cinnamon-roasted almonds and italian ice in an orange half and...and TURKEY LEGS, DUDE. (I did not eat all of that. But I wanted to.)

Anyway, aside from the eating, we watched Hack and Slash (my personal favorite act), Hilby the Skinny German Juggling Boy (who was hysterical), Johnny Fox the sword-swallower (hot as hell -- looked like a cross between Mel Gibson and Bruce Campbell-as-Autolycus), and the hypnotist (I think I might get myself hypnotized next year). Bought the parents a pottery-handled whisk, because I'm always complaining about our old rusty one that they swear is perfectly serviceable (it's BROWN). For myself, got a pewter pin that says "ARRR" (it was a tough choice between that, "Loose Cannon," and "got booty?") and a silver amber ring that looks really good next to my garnet. Vanessa says I should buy a yellow stone, a green stone, and a blue stone so that I can have a rainbow hand. I said, you really shouldn't suggest that when we're still standing at this fabulous jewelry booth.

Nobody wanted to try on clothes with me ::pouts:: One of these times, I am going to get a sword, but it was not this year. And when I have a ceiling where you can actually hang a hammock chair, I intend to buy one. Owning a hammock chair is seriously one of my goals in life, and has been since I was introduced to them in Okracoke five or six years ago. It will be mind -- oh yes, it will be mine.

All in all, it was fun, but we didn't do it my anal-rententive way -- arrive before the gates open, canvas all open shops starting on the left side (breaking for lunch when you get to the jousting area), making purchases, getting out of there before the drunken revelers really get obnoxious. I think I'm going to talk my dad into doing the Faire instead of D.C. next Sunday. Because, you know, we can always go downtown (Beth, the invite's still open. Call in sick!) .

In other news, watched the "Lost" reruns tonight with Alexis and Lauren and all three of us are now completely hooked. I might even be able to still keep up with "Smallville," since Lauren has TNA on Wednesdays and said she was going to tape it. I realize I'm all late in the game, but better late than never. Jack kind of annoys me. Sayid (Sayeed?) is ridiculously good-looking. I love Harold Perrineau, yay! And the pregnant girl is so cute. Kate looks so much like Kate Beckinsale that KB could probably sue. How long is this supposed to run? There's a lot to work with, but twenty-two-ish episodes seems like stretching it.

Sleepy. Feet hurt. James/Elizabeth fic, then bed.
