the Dalaverse

Happy birthday to...me *shrug* I don't feel any older. Right now I just feel lonely, because the parents are both at work and Katherine won't be awake for several hours.

I've been lazing around here in Gburg, being completely useless. It simply isn't worth the twenty minutes spent booting up this ancient PC to update regularly or, er, at all. If anything interesting happened, please do tell me. Otherwise, I will be back in the real world tomorrow afternoon.

Because I am bored and waiting for Fern to come over and play with me, I present: Break In Review.

Thursday P.M.: After nattering yet again about fucking Percy Shelley, departed directly from class. Twenty minutes into the drive, radio inexplicably conks out, so am forced to sing for the remaining hour and a half. Dixie Chicks, showtunes, Joni Mitchell, Presidents of the United States of America, and the entirety of BtVS: Once More, With Feeling butchered.

Friday: dinner at Mama Lucia's with Katherine, Megan, Tina. Ravioli in tasty but alarmingly orange tomato and cream sauce, then an endless deliberation over flavor options at Coldstone Creamery (for the record: white chocolate ice cream, white chocolate chips, and caramel too freaking rich for Bill Gates). Hanging about and game of Phonetically Pronounced Phrases (I keep wanting to call it Catchphrase, but that wasn't it) at Meg's.

Saturday/Sunday: introduction to the LF Health and Sport Club, of which we are now members. Treadmill, bike machines, weightlifting, pool, etc. Very sweaty. Excellent but too-large filet at the Outback. Purchase of U2 TICKETS OMGOMGOMGOMG for show in October; swoon.

Monday: "Hitch" with Tina. Cute movie. Both exclaimed "He's so cute!" over Kevin James every time he appeared onscreen.

Tuesday/Wednesday: nothing much interesting. Some working out, some reading, lots and lots of movie-watching and knitting. Finished first panel of blanket. Only 298739748 stitches more to go!

Thursday: Shopping at outlet mall with Dad, easily sweet-talked into buying things for the Dala. Everything at least 40% off, so guilt=minimum, although Mom=not happy. Also purchase of yummy snackage at Trader Joe's.

Friday: Discovery of liquor bottles in spice cabinet, so old as to be covered with half an inch of dust (tequila and peach schnapps); wee bit of theft. Oil change for the Cheese. Extremely pleasant walk from the dealership to the library and back. Cheesecake and movie with Katherine, Tina, and Lauren: "The Ring 2." Not totally horrible, but not exactly a stellar achievement in filmmaking. Little boy is creepy and Naomi Watts is rull purty, as Fern would and did say. Birthday present exchange -- Dala-->Fern (very late Box o Stuff), Fern-->Dala (homemade cookies, silk purse, lotion), Dala-->Tina (fruity schapps chocolates).

And today, I mean to polish off the tequila with Fern, make her watch some "Coupling" (probably including a twelfth viewing of "Naked"), eat dinner at the West African restaurant in Old Town, and collapse.

Oh, and CAKE.
