the Dalaverse

As it turns out, we are adopting Ralphie, so YAY. Will start taking pictures when he gets here, which could be Wednesday but might not be till the weekend, in part because my cousin Michelle's dog Shorty is staying with us while they're at the beach. He's pretty small, about the size and shape of a Jack Russell but with curly ginger fur; looks a little like the dog in "Because of Winn-Dixie." He's cute and hyper and...okay, a little annoying, but still cute. Follows us from room to room and has to be watched, since he tried to lift his leg already. On Dad's gym bag. Dogs have sensitive noses, y'all. We're just hoping he doesn't have fleas. I'm a little afraid to comb through his fur looking for them.

Sugar, meanwhile, despises me. I can feel the hate-rays emanating from under my bed, which unfortunately for her Shorty is wee enough to fit beneath.
