the Dalaverse

Graaaaah. Feel like I have been used in one of those log-rolling systems, you know, where you put something heavy on a bunch of logs and roll them and keep moving the logs to the front from the back? Yeah, I'm one of those logs.

I finished the paper at exactly 2:00 this morning. It's good -- not great, but I'm pleased overall. I got kind of maudlin and random in the conclusion - I could never get the hang of conclusions, and it was really late and yeeeeah. (Thank you, btw, for putting up with me in that sort of mood.) Now I fully expect Dr. King to show it to Ed Chaney (who was one of my sources and a friend of hers and runs the MAC lab and who I know) and for them to sit around making fun of it. But she made us breakfast this morning, and that was awesome. Pancakes and biscuits and real skillet bacon, not the shit you make in the microwave.

Rounded out my four hours of sleep with another two after class, and have been working on my Museum Studies presentation -- tomorrow at 8 -- in between work and class. Got distracted by the Constellation frigate/sloop controversy. Now I am enjoying TDS and Colbert because I missed them last night and because I deserve it, goddammit, before I hike over to the LQ computer lab to throw this PowerPoint thing together. Which will turn into a longer PowerPoint instead of a paper, because I don't have another paper in me in addition to the Soc essays and the freaking stupid Stat paper and all, all, all the exams.

::falls over:: I want to read 1776. Any thoughts on McCullough? Dad didn't like him, but he doesn't like Patrick O'Brian either.
