the Dalaverse

So I've been having this pain in the right side of my jaw for the past few days. After going on WebMD and convincing myself I have a tumor, as you do, I went in today to figure it out. Apparently it's from an excess of tension in my jaw, neck, and shoulders. Which makes sense; I've been stressed about the house situation and an upcoming audit at work, I spent way too many hours in airports last weekend, and I'm still having trouble sleeping (lots of anxiety dreams, so I'm not surprised I'm clenching my jaw in my sleep). I'm really glad that a. it's not anything tooth-related (I still have my wisdom teeth) that would require surgery, and b. my mom works for the dentist so I don't actually have to fork over several hundred dollars for a night guard. It was kinda fun getting the impressions made in the big balls of pink goo, actually.

Should take about a week to get the thing, and until then I'm stretching, taking Advil, and trying not to spend too much time glued to any of my computers.

And I'm excited I finally managed to catch some equestrian events. I've been pretty obsessive about the Olympics this year, but they have this annoying habit of airing horse stuff at 5 am and I have a job. The show jumping course is beautiful. You jump through a mini-Stonehenge! I was also on the phone with Katherine so I didn't catch as much as I wanted, but I know one of the British guys kept catching his horse in the mouth, and the German guy on the dark bay (?) whacked his horse hard with the crop in anger after he refused a fence. So boo on them, I'm rooting for the 18-year-old American woman. Also I don't give a shit about the Romney horse. Ooooh, and I'm dogsitting for Dr. M so I can actually DVR stuff now!
