I'm still buried in comics and today I finished a piece of my childhood.
I used to get Disney Adventures every month at the grocery store; I have a collection of several years' worth in a plastic bin because I couldn't bear to throw them out. And for awhile in the comics section, they ran Bone by Jeff Smith. I don't think it went any further than part of the first issue, either because they stopped running it or I outgrew the magazine, but I loved it. I didn't realize it was a full-length novel until a few years ago and I've finally read the whole thing.
Wonderful story, beautiful art. One of those stories that stay with you - that mean something. My memories of those first panels were so clear I could finish the lines, even though I must've read them fifteen years ago.
And the stupid, stupid rat creatures are my favorites. They're so adorable and inept and Bartleby *heart eyes*
