VERONICA MARS OMG I missed this show. I missed it so, so much. This episode went a mile a minute and I'm still reeling. Jill was taping as we were watching, so I'll probably watch it again. Man. There was so much stuff. Garbled thoughts:

--Jason Dohring was great tonight. From breaking down in Veronica's arms (or lap, technically) to dealing with the trial(s) to smashing that lamp, he had me reading about eighty different emotions from Logan, all of which were perfectly valid under the circumstances. Dude had the worst summer ever.

--I effing hate Dick Casablancas. But I think I might grow to love hating him. And I like the friendship/resentment between him and Beaver (sorry, Beav, but I can't help it. Dick and Beaver! HEE!)

--Ms. Dumas! The wacky names were actually a bit pushy, I thought -- save some for the rest of the season, Rob -- but I will laugh EVERY SINGLE TIME her name is mispronounced. Provided she didn't die in that whole bus crash.

--Veronica's spy-no-more deal was highly reminiscent of "Anne" -- only I'm pretty sure V gave in quicker than Buffy did.

--Speaking of BtVS, helllooooooo Charisma Carpenter's smoking hotness. I can't think of her as Cordelia when she's prancing around in a bikini and banging high school boys, which is probably a good thing.

--Speaking of that speaking of, I should've seen the Logan/Mrs. Casablancas (I don't know her name, and I kind of like calling her that) coming, but I was still all WTFHUH?!

--Speaking of WTFHUH?!, they totally got me with the "your boyfriend's here!" I shrieked. Jill laughed, because she'd read spoilers. The more I think over the ep, the more sense it makes. I was never very fond of Duncan, but now that he's pretty much back to normal, I find him charming, and Teddy Dunn's got terrific chemistry with Kristen Bell, as good as KB with JD, in a sort-of-the-same-but-completely-different way.

--The uberbitchiness of Meg. Well, Veronica did steal her boyfriend. And I can't fault her too much for letting the bus leave, because seriously, if any of her classmates knows how to take care of his/herself, it's Veronica and they both know it. It was just a little slap in the face, and Veronica seemed to take it as such (a big hee to her "Whatcha doing?" to Wallace. A big squee to all the Veronica&Wallace this ep, in fact).

--Keith slamming Logan up against the wall. Goddamn. I was afraid of him, there, and he's all tiny and inside the TV.

--The mixed-up flashbacks: confusing, but in a good way. Made me pay close attention. That's mah show.

--Weevil coming back for Veronica at the rest stop. I would've bought him leaving, but I bought him returning, too. And their catfight was intense. No actor on this show is slacking.

--A slightly less positive note: the introduction of all the new characters was overwhelming, especially with so much going on. I didn't even remember Steve Gutenberg and his creepy daughter until just now. I'd say they would have been better off with a gradual intro, but knowing this show, the next few eps are going to be just as jam-packed.

--That baseball player (I think? There were distractions in the suite) was hot as hell. And Duncan's grin behind Veronica's head was adorable. Okay, he's really growing on me. I still want to know what that fortune cookie said!

--Logan kicking Weevil in the face in flashback and then doing his little dance. I think he was going for Rocky, but it came out very Michael Flatley. Oh, Logan. So badass and yet so fey. It's lovely.

I think that's about it...fabulous return. VM still reigns.

Oh, and it's creepy and hilarious that they included a shot of Veronica from Aaron's sexcam in the opening credits.
