Okay, since I have just watched The Trailer 2.5 times with John and Gina, I will at last share my epic Trailer Thoughts. Spoilers behind the cut, but ONLY for the trailer -- so please don't bring any others to the table. I will be glad to discuss with that as the rule. I should warn you that it is full of squee and italics.

Erm, I think that's about it. In conclusion: EEEEEEEEEEEE!
In random points...
- First off, how much is that grand battle going to KICK. ASS? I am predicting new standards in special effects.
- The Will/Elizabeth kiss fills me with glee -- it's all rain-soaked and grabby and dramatic. And the dialogue is funny without telling us anything, which is exactly how I like it.
- I already said it, but it gets me every time -- Jack and Davy Jones on the spar, their swords clashing in time to the music, in the storm. That's fucking beautiful.
- Quick and interesting glimpses of Pirates Internacional. Also, Chow Yun Fat is hot.
- I cannot wait to see Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rusch share the screen again. Allies? Enemies? I don't even care.
- Love, love, love the one quick shot of Norrington in his uniform -- this was like the one thing I was spoilered for, but it's one of those spoilers that tells you pretty much nothing about plot or character development. The fact that they restrict themselves to that single shot makes me think they've got some interesting things up their sleeves. Remember, in the DMC trailer we only saw one shot of scruffy!James, and even then I didn't recognize him right away. I like that they're stingy with Norrington in trailers, because that's what I want to know most and want to be spoiled for least. Also love? The ambiguous expression on his face. Bring it, Davenport.
- I've decided for all intents and purposes to blithely discard the whole concept of 'ships (not ships! Never ships!), shipping, and shippers from now until May 25th. I am just going to play in my sandbox of Loving Everybody And Everything, and with that said, I don't get a vibe one way or the other from the trailer. Which is as it should be; they're not gonna give that answer up so easily. That's part of the cow, baby.
- When I watched the DMC trailer, the moment that most intrigued me was the big hero shot of Jack that appears in my icon (fondly named "Jack attack" -- actually, that's not it, I meant the one where he's wielding his sword against the kraken, but I don't have an icon of that). What was going on? Why did that shot have such a distinct visual style? And then I found out, and it was still one of my favorite shots -- and that reminds me, Elizabeth in the rain was the other one. This time, the most arresting shot is fish-faced Jack. At first I thought he was Will, but then I noticed the hair and baubles. Ooooh, I want to know what THAT'S about...
- I really like the contrast between the daylit scenes -- mostly rescuing Jack, looks like -- and the dark and/or stormy scenes from what I presume is later in the movie. It's going to look great, that's for damn sure.
Erm, I think that's about it. In conclusion: EEEEEEEEEEEE!
