I experienced the most extraordinary kind of luck today. The luck of PIE.

I went over to Milestone, which is always a mistake because it's like a million tempting things all in a row. Sure enough, I went into Target for the one purchase I meant to make - a new cover/case thing for the Pearl - got sucked into the clothing department, and insisted on buying a blouse. Sigh. At least it's pretty. And then I couldn't even find what I was looking for. I wanted one of the sticker covers, since I carry it around in a hard-shell case anyway and don't need anything heavy duty. And they had a Starry Night one! However, as I was taking it up to the register, I realized it was Nano-sized. They didn't have any Video-sized ones, and Best Buy didn't even have any at all (besides, anything they have that Target has is bound to be 10-20% more expensive). So I embarked on the second part of my mission, which was reserving my copy of HP at Borders. Good thing, too, because the last day to order is tomorrow. I need to call Tina and Meg to let them know. I would be so bummed out if we didn't get to do our midnight thing.

Anyway, I actually found a suitable iPod protector at Borders. It's a sort of light rubbery case that covers everything except the screen (which has its own sticky protector) and the ports, plus a thing on the back to wind the cord around. Very handy, if not preceisely what I was looking for. So then I had to grab lunch quickly (the cable people are supposed to be coming, for the second time since we got it a month ago, to fix the digital). I went for Chicken Out over Subway and decided I wanted one of those baby chicken pot pies. I'm a sucker for miniature foods, it gets me every time. They didn't have any in the window, so I figured there were some in the back. I ordered it and then the guy said, "No more, looks like we'll have to give you the large." I offered to order something else, but the cashier said no, she'd already charged me for the small and they'd be happy to give me the large for that price.

So now I have this great honking pot pie sitting in the fridge for a little over half of its price, of which I could only eat a quarter. I seem to have inadvertantly bought dinner for three?

And now I'd better look into cleaning my room, because my mother's about twenty seconds away from chucking all my stuff out with the garbage.
