This is a reference post for my [livejournal.com profile] help_japan thread. I wanted to do something craft-y, so I'm offering 2 hand-crocheted ripple afghans; exact details are in the thread. These are some examples I've made from the same basic pattern. Please go bid on me if you like!

I made these two as graduation gifts for friends in their school colors (the black-and-yellow's owner is also a Steelers fan, so it does double duty). They were worked with the stripes going lengthwise and ended up the size of a sofa throw or a light covering on a twin bed.

Detail of the fringe:

This next one is a "scrapghan" I made for myself out of random pieces of my yarn collection, so the colors/weights/fibers vary. It has widthwise stripes and no fringe. Oh, and if you notice loose threads, it's because I didn't work them in or edge it properly because I liked the patchwork feel. It basically matches nothing...and everything :) I use it as a throw or an extra cover on my full-size bed (it's a bit bigger than the tri-colored ones).
