I have the best dad on the face of the earth.

There was some major home improvement to be done in my apartment. He came over this morning, went with me to Home Depot and Target, and spent his entire Sunday helping me clean, spackle holes, scrub walls and sand them down. He also fixed the clock I bought at the craft festival (this guy makes tiny terracotta mugs and teapots and jugs and then fashions collage-type wall art from them. It's amazing, I coveted it for two years before I finally bought it) and the awesome starry copper lamp from IKEA, moved a bunch of stuff, and worked out how to make the book table into an actual piece of furniture. I feel like the Bedelia character in the SNL sketch where she's always talking about how cool her mom is, but it's the truth: my dad rocks. Father's Day this year will have to be epic.

FYI, Magic Erasers truly are magical. They do take paint off, but the walls in question have endless layers of the same color so I was basically just gently redistributing it. It also works to go over dried spackle instead of sandpaper.

We also dropped by World Market, which was an eye-opening experience for Dad. I couldn't walk out of there without wine and lots of chocolate, but at least I walked past the furniture safely. I might be going back for some dinnerware, though.

Still having Thoughts about X-Men, though a bit less today as I spent so much time thinking about walls.

Now I'm drinking wine and watching "Wayne's World." Who says "Blues Brothers" is the only good SNL movie? "Wayne's World" is freaking hilarious. I think of "Guys, you're nodding" every single time there is a countdown, and "Hi. I'm in...Delaware" pretty much whenever Delaware is mentioned, and just last weekend I did the "Car!" "Game on!" bit when we were moving stuff across the street. Also, it has a Scooby Doo ending. What more could you ask from a movie?

ETA: Annnnd now I'm taking a break to watch the "Breaking Dawn" trailer eight thousand times because AHAHAHAHA THEY SHOWED THE HEADBOARD.
