I'm baking something, ya'll. I'm somebody who bakes.

Granted, it's these instant key lime bars we bought in Sams Club a year ago, and all you use is water, eggs, and their mixes, but still.

The key lime stuff actually tasted rather nasty once I'd stirred it up. It better come out all right, or dammit, I'm going to go out and buy something else to bake.
Mood:: 'productive' productive
Music:: "pieces of me," ashlee simpson (if you know some way to get it out of my head, please do share)

I love baking (especially from scratch)! I have a box of brownies in the cupboard, but the oven is still in its box, and I'm too lazy to get it out and set it up.

I have been told that if you hum the music (don't sing the lyrics) to Girl from Ipanema (spelling?) then that will get rid of the song looping in your head. I've never tried it, but one my peers swears by it.

Oh man, I couldn't even try to bake from scratch. I'd burn the house down.

I eventually got it out of my head...by downloading it and listening to it all the way through. And now I like ::shudders::

I don't think that I've had the pleasure of hearing that song yet (I generally stick to oldies, 80's, alternative, and classical).

Btw, I just have to say that I love your icon. Norrington is so... angelic, I guess.

What graphics program do you use to make your icons? I haven't found one that I really like yet.

Aww man, I wish I could make icons, but I actually get them all from icon comms. [livejournal.com profile] infected_icon made that particularly lovely Norrington.

A June Cleaver moment! LOL! Yes, but were you wearing your heels and pearls?

Baking is a very soothing hobby. Very zen. You must have others to consume the fruits of your labor, however. So I don't bake much any more. However, I will be posting all my very good and very easy recipes on [livejournal.com profile] prettygoodfood, my new cookbook community (*preens*), so you should consider friending it. There will be much deliciousness therein.

Hope the key lime bars turned out well.

They're more key lime goop than bars, but they taste yummy :) I might poke around the comm, but I really am a terrible cook, and I don't even have the basic materials when I'm at school.

Well, that's true: it's hard to cook in a dorm.

I was interested in cooking from an early age--I remember watching Julia Child in elementary school, and I used to check out piles of cookbooks from the library. I don't do much cooking any more but I still have a huge collection of cookbooks. Do check out the comm if you get a chance: the family cookbook we put together has all the tried and true recipes we use on a daily basis.

Are you getting ready to go back to school? I am still at work (it's 7:30 here), trying to prioritize my work for Monday, when student orientation begins. *sigh* Have some lime goop for me. :)
