I was supposed to go by Professor Von Kellenbach's office today to interview for a department assistant position. I spoke with her yesterday and she said that she'd be in at 8:00 because they had a department retreat. Somehow, in my brain, this did not equal BE THERE AT EIGHT O'CLOCK. So I got up this morning, took a shower, dithered over my outfit, checked my mail, and finally dragged my ass down to Anne Arundel at 8:40. At which time I discovered that they had all just left for the retreat.
Ten minutes. Ten lousy minutes and I would've caught her.
I'm going to e-mail her straightaway and apologize profusely and offer myself up for whatever time she wishes, but now she's going to think I'm irresponsible and can't be trusted to keep a simple appointment, so why should she hire me for a job where I'm expected to be on time every day?
Note to self: STOP FUCKING THINGS UP.
All I have today is Bio. I'm going to write fic if it bloody kills me.
God, I wanted this job. All you have to do is make copies and type up research and drive people around. Since the library never contacted me, it was pretty much my last hope before I turned to the places in town.
