the Dalaverse

Auggggggh. This whole spend-the-whole-fucking-day-out-of-the-room thing is really not working for me.

But, some awesome things happened while I was walking all over creation.

One: requires some backstory. I've mentioned the two white ducks on the pond, which I named Jack and James because they terrorize all the mallard ducks, who are clearly rival pirates and navies. Anyway, there's no way to tell them apart except for the fact that one of them has a lot of feathers missing from his (hers, its...I don't know) left wing. So I named that one Jack, because of the forearm scars, and that leaves the other one as James. Point: Today some people were feeding the ducks as we were walking by. James managed to snag the motherlode of all bread nodules, and instead of waiting for his turn, Jack chased him around and tried to steal the bread from his beak. I swear I am not making this up.

Two: as Vanessa and I were walking back from dinner, we encountered three people who were having a conversation about going to church as kids and goofing off (which everybody did, right? Come on, don't tell me you actually paid attention. Dang, I went to church with Jessie for a few years -- it was like Satan had popped out a coupla mismatched twin girls). ANYWAY. Vanessa started walking really fast to get away from them, this very perturbed expression on her face. And I had to bite my lips to shreds to keep from cracking up.

Ugh. Whole play to read, e-reserve article, math homework. BUT, Skins game, new AD disc, and James/Elizabeth fic for sinister_beauty that is coming along better than I ever expected. Take a wild guess which of those lists is going to win out tonight.
