Couple of fic-related questions for those in the know (I've got
permetaform's master resource links bookmarked, btw, so if you can remember any specific hints being in there, point me thataway.
1. How long, exactly, would it take the Black Pearl to sail from Jamaica to England? Would they have to stop in English-friendly ports along the way for supplies?
2. Is it likely that Norrington would be able to take a leave of absence for [amount of time in question #1, plus a few weeks], especially if he hasn't been back to the mother country in a number of years and he's got captains posted to the ships of the fleet in the Caribbean? Or would he take his ships with him, for some reason, or just for...I dunno, a jaunt? (We'll say this is 1720-ish, so if there are any actual historical reasons for him to be needed northwards, feel free to share.)
3. Where might Pa Norrington own a large, manor-style home outside of London, but close enough that one could travel there in a day or two?
4. (This is an opinion question and requires no actual historical knowledge) Just how tacky is it to repeat a title you've used for a fic in the same fandom? And, um, used really recently? And it came from a song? Because the friggen Nail sequel wants to be named this specific title, and I'm afraid to refuse it.
In case it's not obvious, I am going to write like a mofo this weekend. I will turn on whatever has been turned off, open up the dialogue scene that's been floating around since April/May/whenever, and make Norrington speak if I have to kill off every damn person in the fic to do it.
In other news, got an 89.5% on my Legacy exam. The essay was the strongest portion, which is reassuring because it means she'll probably like my two papers. My map was...gahhhh. It was a good guess to put Quebec on the east coast -- or it least it would've been had I chosen the dot NORTH OF THE GREAT LAKES. Gahhhh. What a dumb error.
Actually, I had a dream Tuesday night that I got an 89 on my Bio exam. So that's weird. We haven't gotten Bio back yet.

So, tacky? Maybe. But it's slashfic. So, really, does it matter?

if the fic cries ouit for its title, all u can do is agree, yes?

Perhaps you could use the title as a sub title, although that's a bit unwieldy. A different title *would* reduce confusion (eg for people looking/reccing your fic), but I don't think it matters *that* much. After all, you wouldn't want to upset the fic too much - it might turn on you...

It makes me giggle to think that someone out there might be slightly more hopeless at Geography than I am ;) But only slightly...

I guess I'll never be a good mapmaker. Woe.
