I used to wake up somtimes and I could swear my Serenade was asleep on my feet. Even though I was several thousands miles away and in the wrong bed and he was gone anyway.
Thanks *massive hug* There was one morning last winter when I went into my parents' bedroom to say good morning to the animals, and I didn't have my glasses on, so I thought the dog's paler stomach fur was Snake for just a second. That was bad.
Both of my current cats are older--13 & 15. The 13 year old sleeps on my pillow with me, and occasionally in my arms like a live stuffed animal. I still miss my Spooky (who was the best cat in the world). I must post his picture.
I don't think it gets any easier as you get older. One of the saddest things in life, losing a pet.
But it's good to remember them, and what a blessing they are.
