You know, work might be the greatest thing ever because it's a time when I have a menial task to perform, and thus I have nothing to do with my brain but think. And mostly what I think about is fic. And today, I fell in love with this Halloween PotC bunny. I'm not revealing any details except what you can glean from this question: what d'you think Norrington would call an Elizabeth of about thirteen or fourteen? He addesses her in the flashback as "Miss Swann," but I don't know how much of that is social convention and how much is because they have presumably just met. In the movie, as far as I know, he never calls her anything but Elizabeth, but this is a time when he sees her as a social companion and potential wife. So I'm having trouble deciding just how he might address her during those years in between. Opinions?

I was also hit with a hankering for rare het pairings. If anybody out there's looking for inspiration, consider this an informal challenge. I'm thinking along these lines: Norrington/Anamaria. Jack/Estrella. Will/Anamaria. Norrington/Scarlett or Giselle. Groves/Estrella (I was planning on writing this myself awhile ago). Elizabeth/anyone but Will, Jack, or James. Swann/a female character.

Or how about rare threesomes? Jack/Elizabeth/Anamaria, my personal favorite. Or Jack/Will/Anamaria. Jack/James/Elizabeth. Elizabeth/Gillette/Groves. Norrington/Gillette/Groves. Anybody/Gillette/Groves. Gibbs/Jack/James (I <3 Lin!).

Just throwing these out there, hoping to breed plot bunnies. If you can think of any weirder, please contribute (but not squicky, please -- no pedophilia or incest).

Ooooh, I could go for some Jack/James/Elizabeth. *purrs* And James/Anamaria sounds damn yummy too. And the Elizabeth/Grove/Gillette is intriguing.

This was actually one of my ficathon request options. The request was for the three of them gettin' it on under the table at the Turner wedding, but I couldn't do that to poor Will, so I made Elizabeth a fairly new Mrs. Norrington instead. I only got through a few pages, though. It was hard getting four people to act quite that slutty.

Lt/Commander/Captain/Commodore Norrington would refer to the governor's daughter as "Miss Swann" no matter what her age. It's what you call a young lady in public if you're not family.

He calls her "Miss Swann" in the movie, except in what you might call "personal moments", like his proposal on the cliff and just after she accepts his offer of marriage aboard the Dauntless (in that cut scene where he tries to give her the chance to back out).

So it would be "Miss Swann", definitely.

Well, yes, but given that they're nose-to-nose at the time, and he's lowered his voice so only Will can hear, I count that as a "personal" moment. *G*

Oooh, I'm writing Anamaria/Norrington at the moment. Jack/Elizabeth/Anamaria is also one of my favourites, but I seem to find it horribly difficult to co-ordinate three people in a relationship.

there's a wonderful jack/ana maria/will/elizabeth pwp on adultfanfiction.net called Jack's Cure. good luck getting through all 8 parts though as the site's buggy as hell at the moment.

in fact I've just gone through the entire thing and either I missed it, or it's called something else. bugger. will look it up for you as i want to read it again myself
