Okay. This is both the funniest and the saddest thing I have heard all day.
From a Washington Post article about confidence slippage in the last days of the Republican campaign, an interview with a fervent Bush supporter:
But Young is not blinkered; she reads the newspapers, knows how hair-thin a margin Bush has in Ohio. Only this week she began to consider the impossible, that Bush could be right and still lose -- and put that together with her conviction that God knows what He's doing.
"If that happens, the Lord must want Kerry to be in there," she says. "If that happens, it must be the Lord is telling us we're living in the Last Days, and we'd better prepare."
I...don't really have anything to add to that, I guess. It kind of stands on its own.
You can read the article here, but it requires a free registration first, probably.

0.o !
This reminds me of my medieval history class, where we studied the german Emperor Frederick II (unless he was just a king, I can't remember.) Anyway, he lived at the time when everyone was all 'the apocalpse is coming! Prepare your souls!', and he was prophesised as being the Saviour by some people, and as being the Antichrist by others (but he got back at them by dying before the time he was supposed to go all evil).

Well - Bush was wrong and won last year. And this had been considered to be impossible, too. Is there such a thing as God - or are we part of a huge The Sims game?
