Snerk. Even when I don't agree with him, I freaking love Stephen Hunter.

From his review of "National Treasure":

"National Treasure" is the movie equivalent of comfort food: Think of it as a plate of gray roast beef, beige mashed potatoes and chartreuse peas all smothered in sepia gravy served on Wonder Bread in a diner somewhere between East Jonesborough and Potawatomi Run. Expect indigestion, expect cholesterol, expect little greasy Jujubes in your teeth for months and you can have a damned good time.

But who's this Teresa Wiltz person? She's dull. I want Desson Thomas!

heehee! I still read his reviews, even though it's almost too easy to predict what he'll like after reading for all these years. I still remember the glorious rants whenever Dennis Quaid or Tom Cruise did a new movie...

But you know, there were those few critics who said that about POTC when it came out, too. *Especially* before everyone found out about it and stampeded into theaters.

Not the "gray" and boring parts. Just that it wasn't very special and pretty formulaic. Bah.

::gasp:: But... but... I really like Teresa Wiltz! Of course, I love Desson Thomas, too. I have a love/hate with SH's reviews, but they're almost always fun to read.

::sniffle:: I want my Weekend Section. And my Book World. This is like being in exile. (Well, okay, maybe not.)

Yeah, it's very sad to not have the paper physically in front of me, especially the Weekend section.
