::frowns at applesauce::
Okay. So we had several packs of Trader Joes Organic Applesauce in the fridge before vacation. Since we had to unplug everything, fridge included, we took the applesauce out, left it on the counter for five days, and stuck it back in the cool once we got back. Vanessa said it would be okay. But I'm eating it now, and it looks a little dark, and it tastes a little funny, and I can't decide if it's actually bad or if I'm imagining things.
Refridgerated, defridgerated, then re-refrigerated applesauce: edible or not?
Damn, I need real breakfast foods.

If they weren't, or if you hadn't eaten any of it before, check the packaging. Does it say "refrigerate after opening" or "keep refrigerated"?
If the former, it should be fine. If the latter-- how long was it sitting around? If it was just since Wednesday evening, applesauce is acidic enough that it probably just turned dark, the way apple slices do if you leave them sitting around. (high acidity tends to retard bacterial growth) But if it was longer, say a week or more, you might want to play it safe and chuck it.

And in my case, it was only multivitamin juice (2%) which stood in my room for over a week or so. *whistles*
