the Dalaverse

Ahhh. The greatest snack food in the history of the WORLD.

I obtained my packet of strawberry Pocky and double packet of chocolate Pocky at the Chinese supermarket across the street from the Social Security Administration in Rockville, where I was picking up a duplicate SS card. If by "picking up" you actually mean "waiting in line for two and a half hours only to discover that they actually mail you the card within two weeks," of course. So, after reading for half an hour, I went wandering around. There was a beauty salon, a furniture store, a restaurant, and a little candy shop, all adorned with characters I couldn't read. I poked around in the candy store and sampled some dried fruit, then remembered that I'd gone to the Kam Sam market with Katherine and Mrs. K a long time ago, and they had a bakery. I didn't end up getting anything at the bakery; mostly I tiptoed around like the ignorant white girl I am and watched an employee sort sluggish live blue crabs.

Then, THEN I found the junk food aisle, and the POCKY. Little bisuity-cookie-type sticks either plain or coated in icing. They are so FABULOUS and I think I might be addicted to them.
