Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] drbillbongo:

I love looking at people's icons, but I don't always *get* them - I often wonder stuff like, "Who's that guy?" or "Where's that quote from?" but I tend not to ask, for various reasons.

Here are my icons. Pick one (or more!) you're curious about, and I'll try to explain it.

Questions:

"favorite sparrington icon": What does the text say? It never stays still long enough for me to read it.

"playful jack dav", "smut peddler", "aly": What are the source pictures?

It says "Darling...when did we fall? When was it over?" with "fall" and "over" in cursive.

I dunno where the base of "playful jack dav" comes from. "Smut peddler" is Allison Janney as the romance-novel-writing counselor in "Ten Things I Hate About You," and "Aly" comes from the cover of Tamora Pierce's book Trickster's Choice (she's the main character).

1. I DON'T KNOW.
2. I KNOW.
3. A TV segment I remember from when I was little -- I think it might have been on "Saturday Night Live." Mr. Bill was this little man made of colored clay, and he'd do stuff, and then a fist would come along to smash him and he'd shout in a falsetto, "Oh no! Oh no! Mr. Bill!"

There must be...yes indeed. There is a http://www.mrbill.com/

On second thought, I think my dad just added the "Mr. Bill!" part. But the "Oh no!" is definitely authentic.

It was usually just "Oh no!!" That was always said by Mr. Bill when either he or his dog was crushed. I'm not old enough to remember the actual skit on SNL, but my mother talks about Mr. Bill sometimes. She used to have a keychain...

Ok, the "no tommy, most people go to hell" one...that's from a tract, isn't it? o.O looks like it, if it's not......

Yeah, from the Jack Chick tracts. I've always wanted to get ahold of one of those :)
