Birthday was muchly improved by Katherine, who went with us to dinner (Jasper's, not the African place, since we couldn't actually find it). There was cake, which my mother promptly ATE HALF OF. And then Beth popped over, and gave me The Stupidest Angel, and we hung around watching "Coupling" while I enjoyed my pilfered schnapps. Perhaps enjoyed it a bit too much. It's not a good idea to wear a sweatshirt with ears while you are drinking, as it tends to lead to embarrassing declarations like "I'm a bear in the forest! Rawrrrr!"
Today I went to church to make my mother happy, had brunch at Summit Station, and eventually wandered southwards. Having failed to mount a single one of my massive piles of reading over break, I'm likely going to be very busy for the next couple of days.
