the_dala at 09:03pm on 30/03/2005Oh my god. She left. She really, truly left. And like so often happens on this show, what I want to see is not always what's true to the characters, and knowing that makes it mean so much more.
"American Dreams." Season finale. Jack and Helen watching Meg on the commercial, knowing that it's the last they're going to see of their daughter for a long, long time. Meg and Roxanne on the platform. Crying and babbling about haircuts and the locket, "this is a gift from Luke, but it's kind of the nicest thing I own, so here. There's a picture of us inside, 'cause I figured you wouldn't want to just look at me" and best friends saying goodbye, and both actresses deserve Emmys for this scene alone, and now I'm a sobbing mess and I hate Ryan Seacrest's stupid face because TV can be that great but this crap is what gets brought back season after season.
Time for the e-mailing campaign to begin. If this show dies, I'm never watching NBC again.
