quick question

Because I usually ask you guys before turning to [livejournal.com profile] little_details, if it's an era question. What sort of dessert might Mrs. Groves serve the boys? Something rich and hearty but not too fancy -- something that James can eat a lot of.

And yes, the naval OT3 is pestering me again.

Pudding.

By which I do not mean the things Jell-O sells in small plastic cups, but true British pudding, which is more like a cake than what Americans think of as pudding.

And they have silly names, like Spotted Dog (AKA spotted dick), Drowned Baby, Plum Duff, Figgy Dowdy, etc. If you had her make Spotted Dick, the boys could make typical teenage-boy jokes about the name.
