So I register for fall classes at 8:00 tomorrow morning, which I'm assuming is the first time block of the day, and you know what? The two classes I really need to take at this juncture (Social Stat and Archaeology and Prehistory) are still open.

I'm just... I don't know what to do with myself, y'all. This is supposed to be the customary panic. I'm supposed to be running around, tearing my hair out, prostrating myself in front of professors, calling my mother in a panic because the school doesn't have documentation for my second hepatitus innoculation...what gives, SMCM? Why don't I hate you right now?

Okay, so the Sociology of Gender class I wanted is full, and Death and Dying. But I can't really be pissed about that, because I don't want to take any of the Values Inq courses. And Vanessa has talked me into taking the one on violence with Byorn, which should be...interesting. Byorn is Katharina's husband-spouse-partner thing, and I adore her, so hopefully I'll like him as well. Man, our school is so inbred. We have couples teaching all over the place.

Anyway, schedule for next semester, which should be pretty much set in stone barring any major system crash: Violence at 8 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday; Social Stat at 2:40 on Monday and Wednesday; Archaeology and Prehistory at 8 on Tuesday and Thursday; Interpretation of Myth (which is an anth course, as opposed to the Mythology in Lit course I took last semester) at 2 on Tuesday and Thursday.

If you noticed, that's 8 a.m. classes across the board. Every. Single. Day. Vanessa talked me into it! She has 8:00 classes four days a week! ::weeps:: I can do it, I swear. Without sleeping through ANY of them.

I haven't had an 8:00 class since...first semester of last year. It was Soan with Cognard-Black, who I'd really like to have again. And I haven't not had a 6:00 Tuesday/Thursday class in a year. Come to think of it, I haven't not had a Richardson class in three whole semesters. She's teaching a Romantics course in the fall. Not a snowball's chance in hell, man.

Except for the whole 8:00 thing, I'm really pretty satisfied with my schedule.

Okay, what are you and what have you done with my college's crappy registration administration?

Off-topic: I'm completely in love with this band. They remind me of Jimmy Buffett, but with Celtic undertones and really pretty harmonies. Daddy will want to hear them.
Music:: "boston and st. john's," great big sea
Mood:: 'confused' confused

and Great Big Sea! [livejournal.com profile] redorchard13 made me a mix with some of their stuff on it. And I think there's a vid using one of their songs... :-D

Eep. To think I complained continuously during my first year about having 9am lectures every day... that did include Saturdays as well mind you.

Yours sound a lot more interesting though: I found maths lectures particularly painful when half asleep.

Your schedule isn't too bad. Then again, I was in college 10 semesters.
Oh, your school is not as inbred as mine was. We had one of the best English profs leave because he was sick of watching his slut of a wife going on with her affair with another English prof. She was scary...

I'm hoping HARD that I will be able to finish in the next two years.

Good luck with that. I only missed a semester of my journalism courses and it set me back a two.
Ahh, the joys of being an undergrad. LOL

8 am classes can be a bear the first couple of weeks, but once you are used to them they aren't too bad. Easier to find parking spots with the early classes usually LOL.

Oh and I also love Great Big Sea!
