::basks:: Today is wonderful. The weather is absolutely beautiful, so beautiful that even though I'm going to carry my camera around tomorrow, I have doubts about my ability to properly capture the river, the cemetary, the garden, basically all of north campus. But I'll give it a shot.

Other good things include doing all of my reading (okay, skimming it, but I wrote a journal for lit for the first time in four weeks), the last book I ordered for my Port Royal paper arriving, my prophecy paper being accepted for the philosophy journal, and relaxing on the bench at the edge of the cemetary that's usually occupied.

Tell me one thing, no matter how small, that was awesome during your day.

Awesome? I didn't have to cover Bush's visit to Parkersburg. How's that?
p.s. I noticed the Indigo Girls song and I thought you'd like to know they are extremely nice women. I met them at Lilith Fair in '97... Yeah, I'm old...

Yeah, I'm a reporter for the Parkersburg News and Sentinel. Fun, fun. Today was the third time in 11 months Bush has been in the area.
I'm guessing since you said "too" that you're a reporter?

If you think where you are is bad, you should try living in Tennessee. There's been more Bush in this part of the state than in the Playboy mansion over the past five years.

But, thank heavens, I've never had to cover it.

I am a freelancer; in my past lives I've been a reporter and an editor. None of them pay well.

It's everyone's dream until they realize how much work you've got to put in on the business end as well as the writing end - I spend a good half of my time trying to find markets that'll let me write for them, and I still haven't broken national publications ...

Friend away. I warn you, my LJ is mostly just musings, fangirl squeeing, and slashy fanfic ...

Which part? Bush or the Indigo Girls?
I'm assuming the latter. It was cool to meet them cause I was sitting at the first stage (Lilith had 3 stages, first two had no seating) and they were sitting on the grass behind me. So, being the reporter at heart that I am, I introduced myself.

i got to sleep till 10 am, it did not rain, the weather was reallyreally warm and i didn't have to wear the winter coat anymore!

~~i realized that when i tanned for the first time in 8 months yesterday that under my arm was burnt to hell by today~~...wait...you said good...cross that out...

i brought the right kind of bra for 'super burnt skin that cannot take an ounce of rubbing from a bra' without even planning for this incident :-P

good thing about today is finding a small ounce of good in the bad!

Hmmm. Well, the weather was glorious when I woke up.

Otherwise the day was okay, rather than awesome. Not bad, just okay.

Oh, I know. The new gym at rowing is awesome. Instead of exercising in our Victorian hall, with a scummy floor and carrying equipment round corners and up stairs, we have a shiny new gym with new mats and lots of space and it's lovely. :) (Cost a fortune too, but it's worth it).

Well, the weather is awfully nice today, I still have gainful employment (for now - with my lines of work, you never know week to week), and I have a couple of new ideas for a non-fan fiction I'm working on.

I got two of my nursing school apps delivered and only have one left to finish. The sun is shinging and I had a nice drive down to the college with the sunroof open and music blaring! Some other good stuff happened but that might be TMI...lol.

lasergirl69 got the package I sent her two weeks ago.

The butterflies are still coming through. I saw some of them feeding earlier. It is very peaceful to watch them on flowers.

I am totally jazzed on William Blake.

I think I finally figured out how to fix my Halloween J/W fic this morning. My thought-train got derailed by outside forces before I had time to completely think it through (or write it down), but it's more progress than I've made in a while. Yay.

yes, my good thing today. I took off work...again, to go to the game. It was great! I went by myself, but I don't care, they won and they played so well, I'm so proud!!!!! *gushing*

and yes, I did leave in the eigth inning so I could actually leave the parking lot before I turned 40.

I was outside at sunset. And it was warm and beautiful. And the grass felt good between my toes. And my (well, not really mine, but i help teach them) kendo students are an incredible bunch of people. We were doing kendo outside at the time.
