This morning I had the following conversation with myself.

Dala's Reason: All you are going to do is pop the PotC disc in and check something in the very first scene. No more than five minutes.
Dala's Id: 'Kay.
*disc in*
DI: Ooooh navy ships shiny wheeeeee!
DR: All right, I'm satisfied now.
DI: BUT I WANNA WATCH IT!
DR: You can't. That wasn't part of the deal. Only the one relevant scene.
DI: BUT I WANNA WATCH THE WHOLE THING!!!
DR: You have work to do!
DI: NAWWWW!!! WANT!!!
DR: Why? You've seen it eighty million times! It lives in your head! You do not have two and a half hours to spend watching a movie you have seen eighty million times!
DI: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
DR:....sigh. This is a disease, you know.
Mood:: 'content' content
Music:: "i've heard of one. supposed to be very fast, nigh uncatchable -- the black pearl."

*giggles so much she nearly falls off the sofa*

I soooo know what you're on about. *bounce* You know what the scary thing is though? Virtually every time I watch it or get screen caps from it, I come across something new & different...

Example: Did you ever notice that we only twice* see Gov. Swann's legs? It's like they're trying to deny he's a normal human being!

Hee! I will watch for that now!

On repeated viewings of the first scene, I noticed a really good-looking sailor over Norrington's shoulder when they're watching the merchant ship burn. Yum.

Oooh, there's one (well, the *ahem* rear view is nice) when Liz says she'll marry James - I have a screencap on the other machine.

Mmm... yummy sailors *grin* Not to forget Hot Rower Guy either *giggle*

Dude! Yes! didn't someone mention that on C-B, way back when I was active there? I so remember it.....

Yeah, I think the Hot Rower Guy stsrted over at IMDb and moved to CB with the general migration (the same as peej's Teddy fan-club & possibly the RRWPWGOTIWQTMAOTAT Society), I seem to recall [livejournal.com profile] twobluestripes being a fan, but I could be wrong... (You see, us old-school Rumrunners were eyeing up random extras back when the film were still at the cinema *giggle* incorrigible lot that we were...)

Anyhow, nice arse guy (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/tiggothy/screencaps/cap039.jpg) and Hot Rower Guy (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/tiggothy/screencaps/cap007.jpg) The one of the rower probably ain't the best of screencaps, but he's the guy standing up in the stern I believe (after 18 months, my brain's a bit rusty!)

Ooops, took me a while to post this, I got lost in Davy Jones' Locker at CB trying to remember why there's a Q in "RRWPWGOTIWQTMAOTAT"

Don't forget Cute Helmsman who informs Groves and Norrington the rudder's disabled. (I call him Stefan.)

*nods* Know who you mean. We called him Charles Smith (or to give him his full name, "Charles 'He's disabled the rudder chain, sir!' Smith". mmhmm. ver' cute *grin*

The guy's real name is Christian Martin, and there's a couple of photos of him in Greg Ellis' 'behind the scenes' pics on his website (gregellis.tv (http://www.gregellis.tv))

*bounce* I remember there being a debate about whether or not out cute helmsman was killed in the fight against the undead pirates - 'coz some of us were of the opinion that it was he who says "Lieutenant..." to draw Gillete's attention to something being wrong...

Well ... can his MIDDLE name be Stefan, then? Everyone else was calling him Russell Crowe Jr., but I prefer Stefan ...

I thought he was the one who warned Gilette on the Dauntless, as well. I hope Stefan didn't get killed *sniffle*.

Charles Stefan "He's disabled the rudder chain, sir" Smith. Good, strong name. Not named for his father though, I bet ;-)

And far more attractive than Russell Crowe, and with a much cuter accent as well :-p

...and yes, I also hope he didn't get killed... Hmm... I think I need to make an icon. Will have to do screencappage tomorrow :-)

I (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/tiggothy/icons/css3.jpg) made (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/tiggothy/icons/css4.jpg) some (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/tiggothy/icons/css2.jpg) icons (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/tiggothy/icons/css1.jpg)

No text, but I thought you might like to see ;-) If you have any suggestions for text to add, please post it in my journal (http://www.livejournal.com/users/tiggothy/37944.html) Cheers ;-)

OMG I do the same thing! Hubby comes home to find it in the DVD player and says "you watched it AGAIN?" I could almost recite the entire movie by memory now but its so fun to watch.

Hee. I have under my belt The Week That Will Live In Infamy, wherein I was writing an AU and so I watched PotC twenty-two times in seven days. It was just on in the background whenever I wasn't showering or sleeping. I starting mumbling lines at work without even realizing I was doing it.

I haven't watched the DVD much recently, but it's showed up on cable an average of 1-3 times a week for the past nine or ten months, so:

Hey look, Pirates. Again.

DVD's right there. I don't need to watch this.

Yeah, but it's on RIGHT NOW.

It started half an hour ago. The picture's cropped. The DVD is widescreen and I can watch it from the beginning. Which I will do later.

But it's research.

I...but...Fine. Now shut up.

Oh yeah, that sounds familiar XD I also have this problem where I'm shopping, and see a DVD of PotC on special offer..

Eyes: *___* PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN! Oh god, I need to buy it!

Brain: You already have it on DVD. You don't need two copies of it.

Eyes: But it's so cheap!

Brain: No!

Hands: Too late! *grabs*

XD; Thankfully my parents always manage to wrestle it off ot me before I get to the checkouts.

lol
My usual reaction to seeing POTC cheap is "How dare they? If they're not prepared to pay full-price, they're not worthy!"

*giggle*

I am proud to say that I didn't buy a second copy of the DVD when the Lost Disc edition came out.

I waited until Christmas so my daddy would buy it FOR me :)

...whereas I just bought mine the first chance I got (when I went to the US having bought myself a multi-region player)...

...and, bringing it home, discovered that for some bizarre reason the covers of reg. 1 & reg. 2 are actually different (the fonts & stuff are all slightly different.. it's just weird...)

*bounce*

PS I think I've posted round here enough now *hides in a corner, sitting on her hands*
