Just got back from driving for an hour and a half. No, really. First I went all the way down 5 South till I got to Point Lookout. Then I turned around at the vistors' center and headed north, don't know how many miles, I was gonna go until it connected to 235 but I wasn't sure if I would recognize it. Then I drove back south again, and turned around shortly after I passed Historic St. Mary's because I decided I wanted to go in, then just circled the parking lot because I didn't have my ID on me. Then I went south again and stopped at the Confederate cemetary. It's not a real cemetary, just a monument to mark where the bodies lay before they returned them to families. Did you know Pt. Lookout was a prisoner of war camp? I sure as hell didn't. Anyway, the monument -- monuments really, the big one was given by the nation and the small by the state, they were very simple and pretty and connected me to D.C. a bit. Then I turned around and came home. Got through my Indigo Girls CD twice.
It's amazing what a long drive with good music does for me. I'm so relaxed and content right now. I need to remember the effects driving has on me. If I had a horse, I'd go riding when I was stressed or unhappy, but now I think I'll just go driving.
So now I've skipped each class (except Sociology) once. That's nice and rounded, don't you think?
Should be able to last the rest of the week now. Really, really hope Katherine decides to come home, because then I get in an extra hour or so of driving.
