First I wrote this week's schedule down incorrectly, so Carrie leaves me a message at 9:30 asking me where the heck I was, since I was supposed to come in at 8. News to me; I thought I wasn't working till 4. So I scrambled around to the tune of my mother nagging me. Work itself wasn't so bad, unless I'm counting the damn register test, which I failed and have to take again. It should not have bugged me as much as it did. It's just a stupid summer job. But I hate being wrong.
The final act of stupidity happened on the drive home. It occured to me just as I was getting onto 270 that rush hour was starting and I should have taken the back way. The highway was pretty clear, but once I got off on MV, it was backed up like mad. So there I am, sitting in traffic right next to the exit to 270 north, and for some reason, I actually think it's a bright idea TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY, GO BACK TO WHERE I STARTED AND TAKE THE ROUTE I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN IN THE BEGINNING.
You can tell by the caps how this turned out.
Ah well. At least I'm (finally) home, and the day's nearly over. And the AFI 100 Quotes countdown is on tonight, so that should be awesome. I love those things; I've watched them every year since they started. I watched the 100 Songs countdown twice.
Anybody else heard the Jerry's Subs radio commercial parodying TDS? The guy has Jon Stewart's vocal inflections and tics down. It's hysterical. I'm almost as fond of it as I am the Budweiser "Real Men of Genius" (real men of geeenius)spots. Today we salute you, Mr. 80 SPF Sunscreen Wearer (Mr. 80 SPF Sunscreen Weeeaaarer...).
Oh! Now I remembered what I meant to do in the first place -- renew LJ crap. I want those twenty extra icons, dammit.
