"Dirty Dancing" was on Fox Family Channel. A movie I have seen eighty-four thousand times, and have owned pretty much forever. Also heavily and annoyingly edited for the network in question. And yet I still felt compelled to watch the whole damn thing.

It's not my fault I caught it right at "I carried a watermelon." Usually I don't pick it up till the end, and then I only have to watch the final scene, which is one of my top five favorite scenes of all time.

They cut chunks out of the "have you had many women?" scene, though. No Patrick Swayze ass for me tonight. And no "Overload" at all. What the hell was that? That's important! It's all rainy and tension-breaking!

Once again, I got a serious threesome vibe during the part in the "Hungry Eyes" scene where Johnny and Baby and Penny (god, that's a lot of -y names) are all dancing together. Anybody know of any "Dirty Dancing" fic floating around out there?

I did not just ask that.

And now I feel very frivolous. My thoughts are still with the victims across the pond. It's just that stupid movie. I should never have been allowed to watch it when I was little.

This song is on the CD or whatever it is they play at work. I can't not do the little dance steps to it. Just like I can't not do the "wham bam thank you ma'am" part of "Sufragette City," even if it's only in lip synch, and I can't not wiggle my hips to "When Doves Cry," and I can't not do the Time Warp again. Even if I am driving or running on a treadmill. I have to physically restrain myself and concentrate really hard to keep from breaking out into any of these little tics.
