Well, that both sucked and rocked. First the suckiness: Clark. Lana. Clana. They have KILLED it and still it is twitching around pinkly. I swear to god, one more ep end with Lana coming to the barn to moon -- it doesn't matter if she's really reiterating that they're broken up, which she did here. The point is that I cannot take the two of them on that set having "deep" conversations fraught with meaningful glances.
That being said, I actually hated Clark more in this ep than I did Lana. How the hell is that possible, you ask? Because he needs to grow the fuck up and move on. He was a creepy stalker, dammit, and creepy as it is when Lana does the same thing, it's much creepier coming from Clark, who does enough keeping other people out of his business that he should know better. Also, I've seen Tom Welling act. I know he can do it. But tonight? He was just awful. When Kristin Kreuk is acting circles around you, boy, you know you're in trouble.
More shitty lines for Mama Kent. Poor Anette O'Toole, she's one of the most talented people in that cast and they've just got fucking nothing for her to do (though to be fair, Bo suffered this week as well from underuse. Pete got one scene! Yay Pete!)
Oh, I missed the teaser, so he might have been in that as well.
No Lionel! ::sobs:: I really missed the Magnificent Bastard. I want more bad!Luthor!touches, dammit.
The good:

I was actually disappointed in last week's scene with the two of them, because there didn't seem to be a whole lot of chemistry. Which is ridiculous -- Lex has chemistry with every man, woman, MB, animal and mineral on the planet. It felt like he just turned it off when Chloe walked in.
This week? It was definitely, DEFINITELY on.
Man, that's so hot. That's so hot that I can forgive the lack of Clex. Lex is always a joy, and Alexis Mack keeps impressing me this season. They were pitch-perfect together. I can't WAIT to have the two of them and the MB in the room together. Things will just start spontaneously combusting.
Speaking of the Clex, I cracked up when Lex is trying to be all soothing to Clark in the Talon after the robbery and he turns around and Clark's gone. It was just one of those "Not again!" moments that will have to suffice for the Clex in this ep. After all, we know he was really thinking "Well, at least I've still got my pants on this time."
The Chlark kiss was very, very cool. Clark looked incredibly dumb in this scene. Chloe was all deviousness, while you could just hear the wheels turning in Clark's brain: "Chloe! Kissing! Chloe! Mgghghghg..."
Lana in a janitor's outfit. Priceless.
Something that was once of the bad: the absurd colors the hospital is painted. Once I hated the bright teals and purples; now I love them because at least Smallville keeps the theme going in their jail, with its bright blue bars and bright yellow and red walls. I guess, if the prison's been painted like this for the whole show, I never noticed it.
Think that's about it.
Gah, CHLEX.
