the Dalaverse

Crappy day. First the fact that I have two exams tomorrow and have begun studying for...wait for it...neither one. Second, I did my first ethnography interview today; it went really well and I was all proud of myself for being professional and insightful until I realized I hadn't set the taperecorder properly, so I missed the whole forty-five minute interview. Smart, Dala. It's not like you checked it before you left campus or anything. I discovered this unfortunate event in the parking lot so I was able to scribble down some notes, but I have an awful memory for detail and I wasn't paying that kind of attention anyway, because I was figuring I'd have a tape to transcibe.

Third, in Stat class today, we were discussing a simple problem that used a survey on blood pressure, and Hicks used this as an opportunity to go off on a tangent about blood pressure-related problems, including heart attacks, heart surgery, and brain aneuryisms. I am only okay with all of those things if I don't think about them, apparently. Today I was forced to think and I got really upset. I suspect my own blood pressure would have been unusually high.

On the plus side, we basically helped Dr. King write the Archaeology midterm this afternoon, the Stat midterm is multiple choice, and my "Veronica Mars" DVDs finally came. Conveniently giving me an excuse to put off studying, as if I needed one.
