In one week, I will be in England.

I feel like that should be written in white puffs across the sky, to get across the proper feeling.

I have never been out of the country, and I haven't been on a plane in ten years, and I've never lived in another state much less a whole other nation. I have to pack, and call the bank, and get my passport and emergency card together, and read the Frommer's guide Daddy bought from cover to cover. I want to see and do everything. I realize that I can't, and as Megan said, it's not like Europe is going anywhere, but...I want, I want, I want.

(Can I call it England? Or am I supposed to say U.K.?)

You certainly can, if it's just England. If, on the other hand, you're hopping off to Dublin or, say, Aberdeen for a brief visit, saying "England" will get you disapproving stares and pointed comments from the natives. ;)

Call it England if you want. I'm sure the Scottish and Welsh would prefer that. LOL

"Britain" is always a good term. The UK's not used so much in ordinary parlance, as it were - it's the sort of term newspapers use. I like "Britain" and "British" because as someone who's half-Welsh and half-English that's technically what I am and where I'm from! But if you're referring to the English bits of Britain then "England" is more than acceptable. :)

I'm very excited for you! I hope you have a great time. On a side note, as a tourist, the Tower of London was my favorite place in the city (aside from Madame Tussaud's).

Go slowly at first, or you'll wear yourself out and be sick of it inside of two weeks. I spent 5 weeks in China and if you overstimulate yourself all at once, you'll want to hide for a while after that, honestly ...
