I'm drowned in lethargy today. I don't have much to offer but this. I think it must be Integral.
Annie to Karen: You're like a little white James Brown.
Ian: I'm okay.
Karen: Honey, you had eleven glasses of wine
Ian: But it was free.
Annie: I'm going to be the Panty Fairy and the Queer Avenger. I will wear a black t-shirt that says 'Queer Power,' and rainbow hotpants with panties over them, and thigh-high boots. And I'll carry a purple glitter rucksack full of panties, which I will disperse for all the good girls and boys. Rule number one: no panties for assholes. Rule number two: No arctic excursions.
And then later Lindsay had this fantastic theory that "Ice Age" is LotR gone wrong: the quest that failed. The baby is the ring, because it represents the destruction of the natural world, and was meant to be destroyed. Diego is clearly Boromir, resisting temptation to give in to evil; Sid is mostly Gimli for his comic relief, with a bit of Merry and Pippin thrown in. We couldn't pin Manny down as easily; he's kind of a Frodo/Gandalf/Aragorn hybrid, but the loss that motivates him doesn't really apply to any of those characters. And my personal contribution -- the quest fails because there is no Sam. We were quite impressed with ourselves. Even though it looks pretty silly now.
I snagged The Constant Princess from the Westgate, thrilled to be the very first to check it out. I don't feel I know Catalina/Katherine properly yet in just fifty pages, but wee Prince Harry amuses me greatly. Speaking of books, has anybody read Labyrinth by Kate Mosse? I really wanted to read it to wash the taste of The Da Vinci Code out of my brain, but so far I'm...not that impressed. I have more Philippa Gregory, Sarah Waters and Patrick O'Brian awaiting me, so I don't know if it's worth it to keep going.
There was a RotK-watching plan tonight, but it's already so late and we're losing an hour, so there was then a collective "Ehhhh." Tomorrow, maybe.
Resisting the urge to go get chips and cheese. I can have them for dinner tomorrow. That way I don't have to go to Sainsbury's for something.
