the_dala at 10:23pm on 03/06/2006I have successfully addicted Anne to "Veronica Mars;" we watched the first three episodes tonight, and 'Wrath of Con' is up next and it's possibly my favorite S1 ep. Did I mention how pleasant it is to live with someone who watches TV? I mean, did I mention it today?
Tomorrow we finally start actual field work, which means no more six hours of lecture per day. On the whole they've been interesting, especially the epic three-parter Ceramics, but by Architectural Artifacts this afternoon I was about done. On the other hand, I will now be bitching about the heat and the sun every single day. Well, Wednesday through Sunday. Monday and Tuesday comprise our field school weekend. Which means today is Saturday, but for me it was really Thursday.
I meant to post this anecdote earlier and never got the chance: Yesterday afternoon we had a lecture on Pipes and Bottles. I made it through the pipes okay, but five minutes into the bottles I was wondering why I had the overwhelming urge to giggle. linaelyn's Rum series. And then I wanted to KILL LIN, because...actual 18th and 17th century bottles, sitting right in front of me, all squat and long-necked, and Groves who's always in my head these days, and you should've seen the scary string rim on this one...GAHHHHH. It was worse than Elizabeth demanding -- demanding, as only she can, she's worse than all the boys put together when she really wants to be -- attention during today's lecture.
Which reminds me, I'm off to poke at my little cracksequelfic. I think I found my fannishness again.
