I'm avoiding packing, so I finally changed the dolls as my mother's been begging me to for months and months (she's not allowed to touch them or she would've done it herself, and messed up their closet no doubt). They were in spring clothes, and as far as I can remember had been wearing them since spring of last year. Their hair was dusty. But they're all fresh and clean now. I put them in random dresses. Kirsten is wearing what I call her country girl outfit -- a red plaid vest and skirt with cream-coloured blouse, plus a blue flower-sprigged kerchief and her red boots and gray socks. I can't find it on the Pleasant Company website, so they must not sell it anymore. That's very sad. Samantha's dress is likewise not available, but that's because it was a one-year special -- and I'm glad I got it because it's gorgeous, pale blue satin with a lacey collar and a pleated bodice and a sash. Stupid PC -- Addy's dress isn't on there either! It's orange with yellow stripes and green and yellow trim, and much prettier than it sounds. Felicity's riding habit had damn well better be on there because it's one of my favorites...yeah, here it is.
Hmmph. I hate the new purple dress they're selling her in. And Elizabeth was a brunette, not a blonde! And Pleasant Company has sucked thoroughly for ten years, ever since they started selling the stupid modern dolls and lost interest in what made them special in the first place: not elaborate outfits and playsets at exorbitant prices, but a point to the dolls. A point called books, and history. I know what a stomacher and a victory garden is thanks to those books, and now they're not even a minor selling point. Stupid company!
But I love my dolls.
...Please remember I was an only child?

Ah, memories! I have a feeling I will be stuck browsing the PC website for the next few hours. ;-)
