the Dalaverse

Hokay, so. I keep promising posts of actual content, but here is the thing: my semester promises to be a bitch on ice. I do not even know what that means, so don't ask.. In addition to the usual four classes/sixteen credit hours weekly (all of which come with middling-heavy reading, being upper division, as well as exams and papers and what not), I have two movies a week to watch for my film class, and forty hours of lab work to do for conservation before mid-November. This all being done outside of class, it's about the equivalent of taking SIX classes, TWENTY-FOUR CREDIT HOURS a week. In addition to that, I have my job, which in terms of time is tacking on yet another two-hour class, every day. I also mean to volunteer on the Dove on weekends, actually make a real effort at exercise, cook the house meal at least twice a week, and read for pleasure if I have the energy (at a more impressive rate than I have been doing these last three years). If I decide to do an SMP, that's...god, I don't even want to think about it. Basically reseach for a thesis that could be anywhere between 50 and 100 pages, due next spring. People who coast through senior year can kiss my Scottish ass.

Hokay, so again -- I will likely be pretty sparse on LJ for some time, at least until I a. get a suitable routine worked out that doesn't drive me mad or b. the lonely overtakes the busy. In either case, I need to trim my flist. I've never really gotten into the idea of filters. What I'll be taking off of steady reading are a few communities and personal LJs whose owners I can't recall interacting with on a regular basis lately or whose interests have drifted from my own. It's nothing personal; it's just a time thing. If you still want to be able to access the few (always the personal things I'm paranoid somebody in RL might stumble upon, never fic or fandom-related) flocked posts I make, and think you fit the above description, comment here to remain, please.

And I really will do a current affairs update beyond OMG SOMEBODY STOLE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD. Just...not tonight. Or tomorrow. How about Wednesday, say 11:15ish? Pencil me in.

P.S. I am really sad about Steve Irwin. Dad loves him and we used to watch him all the time.
