the Dalaverse

The rough draft of my 'film as an event' paper (I'm doing "The Graduate") is due tomorrow night, and I interviewed my parents for it. My mother wasn't quite as useful because she was still in high school when it came out, but my dad? Gave me exactly the answers I was looking for, with a good degree of cultural awareness and insight, and without me having to lead the interview at all. Perfect. I think I can write this paper now. I'm really excited to sit here and watch the film again -- I've really only seen it twice all the way through, and that was several years ago -- with a critical eye.
