Hot damn, that was a good Grey's. Bailey's face when she saw her name had been erased off the board...oh. Oh, it broke my heart. And again when Burke realized what Cristina did, and told her he couldn't use her...and then Cristina sitting there in the locker room, horrified by the hole she's dug for herself...this plotline might be my favorite thing this show has ever done. Once again, Chandra Wilson is magnificent.
A near contender: Alex Karev. How in hell did Alex become my favorite person? I knew he was going to end up following in Addison's footsteps, because he's good at, er, the baby stuff (what is the technical, surgical name? Natal? Neo-natal?) and, shock of shocks, he actually has a passion for it. BTW, Mark's dismissal of the "baby-catchers" means that I will never, ever, ever like that character.
The Medical MOTW was good -- the two actors had nice chemistry, and the ending was sweet. Although, holy mother of fuck, two uteruses?! Most women have enough trouble with one! Do they have different menstrual cycles? I don't imagine they would, but still...that is some unfortunate trick of nature, that is.
I actually found McDreamy tolerable this episode, maybe because he had Embeth Davitz to play off of, and I adore her. She was great in "Tadpole," and she's just so pretty and elegant and has great hair and I want her to be my sister and take me shopping. I also enjoyed the way Shonda has backed off the Mere/Der, at least temporarily, and thought the conversation they had at the end was extremely mature. So was Mere's comment to Cristina that she'll be there when Cristina's ready, because -- I know Mere tends to be self-centered, but regardless, when a close friend shuts you out like that, it hurts. It was good of her to offer her support, although I think Cristina will only take it after she's totally broken by all this. What she and Burke are doing is so very wrong and fucked up, but I kind of like watching what it's doing to them, so I can wait for the inevitable explosion of consequences. Although Bailey seems to be catching on, so it can't take too long.
George: be the ham and catch Callie. Now.
As for next week's trailer (and thank you, NBC, for having generally non-misleading promos) -- Heeeeeeee! CAMPING!!! I am so excited for the wacky male hijinks. The few shots of the boys merrily skipping off into the woods cracked me up. Only, please don't fall for McSteamy's shit while the boys are away, Mere. Not after we ended on such a good note. I'm hoping that at least is a case of network misdirection. I really hate McSteamy.
