OH MY GOD THE PETER/CLAIRE ::dies:: I don't think I've ever shipped a TV pairing like this, or at least not in a really long time. I know there are some "Heroes" fans out there -- please, tell me if you see any fic? Or I may just have to write it myself.

Holy crap. I just figured out my attraction, other than the fact that the actors are vibing at each other like mad -- it's basically Logan and Rogue in reverse with less life-sucking (although wouldn't it be cool if Peter learned to control the intensity of his power-suckage? Like, not only absorb powers, but do it so his opponents were 'tapped out'?). And in case you didn't know, Logan/Rogue is my original, all-time OTP. That might be why the age difference doesn't bother me. At least Peter is younger than Wolverine.

ETA: Oh, Hiro ::loves::

Umm, is it just me or does the "Eragon" movie look...crappy? The book is good, right? I don't mean to offend any fans -- I seem to recall that the book is good (and was written by a very young guy, which is awesome), but the trailer is...rough, to say the least.

Final ETA: What. The FUCK?! ...I love this show. But January 22nd? Dude, the holidays suck! Also, the Petrelli brothers touch each other a lot. I have no objection to this as long as it doesn't mess with my Peter/Claire.
Mood:: 'bouncy' bouncy

There is some, but the fandom's still so new almost none of it's any good. Try [livejournal.com profile] ninth_wonders or [livejournal.com profile] heroes_fic.

Thanks! Anything's better than nothing. I'll keep an eye on those.

You mean that it looks like every other fantasy movie that's come out in the past few years?

It looks like a made-for-TV movie, actually, with crap special effects and inexperienced actors. I wouldn't knock the fantasy genre in Hollywood at the moment, with LotR, Narnia, HP, and even PotC -- the success of all the former films no doubt the reason "Eragon" was greenlit in the first place. I'm sure it's got a built-in audience among fans of the book, but the way it's being promoted really doesn't impress me. I got really excited when LotR got the ball rolling, hoping for a score of fantasies like the '80s flicks I love so much. So far Hollywood has exceeded my expectations, and I don't want Eragon to ruin the momentum. (Looking ahead, New Line had better give HDM the respect it deserves...yes, I am totally going to be freaking out about this for the next eleven months...)

Just because you make one thing like another doesn't mean it's going to be as good as what came before it (look at all the pirate movies between "Captain Blood" and "POTC" that were crap). But cheer up; with Peter Jackson comes new hope. *G*

I'll admit that I cringed when I saw Jeremy Irons in the poster (I've not yet seen the trailer) because while he is capable of doing marvelous things, he also tends to take roles to pay the rent and the Dungeons and Dragons movie had really interesting costumes and ... well, it had costumes. Umm.

I would add Reign of Fire to your list above. I rather liked the dragons in that one. And the fact that it's a fantasy/action and not fantasy/kids - Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Narnia, D&D, et al.
