::squints:: I don't know if this blanket is working. It's diagonally striped, so I'm working from one corner outward, and I think it's gonna turn out square -- but the blanket in the picture is rectangular. And the pattern's not very well-written, so it's not helping.

Ah well. I'll just have a really cuddly square blanket if all else fails. I love Homespun.

Next project: I will learn him to make mittens and/or socks. And a shawl. And a new hat.

If you find a good pattern for socks let me know. Learning to knit socks is on my to do list, but it keeps getting put off.

Good first sock pattern. It's sooooooo easy to follow, and goes fast with worsted weight on size 4s or 5s. You can spice it up with some ribbing, if you want. I'm in the middle of my fourth pair of these mindless things.
