Since I'm sitting here fretting over the blanket and watching "American Idol," I found something to remark upon during the commercial breaks.

3. The Verizon commercial where the dad is gleefully sending his kids text messages at the dinner table, and the mom holds out her hand and snaps, "Give it to me" at the end. That is Everyfamily, my friends. Or at least mine.

2. Something that was a "tantalizing trifecta of meatasticness." I don't know, there were a lot of T words and meat and then I got scared and changed the channel. Maybe this isn't so much a favorite commercial as one to be remarked upon, and feared.

1. The UPS commercial that is softly playing "Such Great Heights" (sans lyrics) in the background. First, because it's an awesome song; second, because it's by the Postal Service. It's one of the more subtle -- indeed, almost unspoken -- puns I've ever heard. I want this commercial to come on again.

First favorites tonight -- a brother and sister whose names I can't remember or pronouce, but who have lovely voices.

Is it Verizon or Sprint - the commercial where the dad is going on about getting his daughter the phone for Christmas and he asks "And what did Daddy get?" And she answers some lame gift and he says, "No, Daddy got HOSED." That one wins.

This is an older commercial from maybe a couple months ago, but have you seen the first (?) of all the versions of the Panasonic plasma TV commercials? It's so strange and creepy. The little girl wrapping tape around her arms, the water running down the stairs, the raccoon in the living room and the tipped bottle. Maybe?

It's my favorite commercial ever and I want to see it again. And yeah, ust dropping by.
