It's fricken freezing out there, Mr. Bigglesworth! ::hunkers down::

Nobody else wants to play the timestamp meme? Is it because I forgot to link to my large and varied assortment of fics? *puppy dog eyes* I want to play!

Speaking of which, I played my favorite bored-in-class game tonight during Geology, which is just profoundly boring. Well, not the subject so much, but he lectures with PowerPoint straight from the book and the PowerPoint itself is on Blackboard too, so my motivation to pay attention in class is nil. Anyway. The Free Association Lyrics game. In which you begin with a line from a song -- any song, any line -- and write it down. In the tradition of free association, you then write the very next line that pops into your head, presumably prompted in some way by the first line. And so on and so forth, until it ends in one of two ways: you get back to the artist who wrote the first line or, ideally, back to the actual first song (without cheating!), or you get bored and stop (in this case, I kept going until I ran out of space on the page). I actually managed to get back to my beginning in an organic way tonight. And now I feel compelled to share the results with you. Most of the lyrics are pretty obvious, but feel free to guess at/ask about the more obscure ones.

A long, long time ago / It's been a long time / Run for your life / Running on empty / Against the wind / It ain't the wind, it's the rain / Touch, feel, and lose / Let it roll, baby, roll / To the left, to the left / Walking in Mephis / I went wandering / I hear that train a-coming / Like the 309 / On the long ride home / I wished I loved Jesus the way my wife does / Turn it up, Captain / I need you in my house 'cause you're my home / Everywhere you go, you always take the weather with you / One fine day / Can you hear the drummer slowing / Long, long, long / It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw / Fever dog, scratching at my back door / Staring at the sun / I'm only happy when it rains / Helter skelter in the summer swelter...WIN!

Wow. I have just spent *hours* today reading your Sparrington fics. I'd read them before -- and I've had "Burn your Bridges/Careful how you Bend Me" bookmarked since forever (I love those two so much, I keep going back to them) -- but it's been so long since I've read the other stuff and just, wow... even better than I remembered.

Thank you for a wonderful afternoon :))
