What with the loans finally going through, I had a large positive balance in my school account. They removed it in the form of a check, as they do. On Wednesday the 24th. It is now Monday the 30th (after the mail has arrived) and the check is not yet in my mailbox.
Dude! The financial aid office is right across the street! It is ON-CAMPUS MAIL! It should not take three days (not counting the weekend) for one piece of mail to travel a hundred yards! I could've gone to the office and picked it up mself and saved them the trouble of sending it to the mailroom!
::hyperventilates:: I have to pay for my scuba stuff tonight and I don't have the money in my account to cover it until this check gets to me and I put it in the bank. Which means I'll have to hand the professor a check and say, "Please don't cash this for a couple of days, thanks!" I don't think he'll mind, but it's so horrendously embarrassing that my throat's closing up just thinking about it.
