Okay, that's it, I cannot listen to this song one more time without at least asking.

Does anyone know of a. a free downloadable program for vidding, and b. a really simple-to-read, simple-to-do tutorial? Keep in mind that I make my few icons with Microsoft Paint.

The free vidding software -- like VDub and VDubMod -- aren't WYSIWYG type programs. And the help files are scant. Mind, VDub is a damn good program. I use it a lot myself. But not so great as a first plunge.

The easiest? Is Windows Movie Maker. Not free, but probably on bittorent.

Have you tried checking on Torrent? My sister says there's nothing online worth trying that's free. She bought "Video Explosion" for $80 at Staples and she's been really happy with that.

I might consider buying a program if I really wanted to get into it, but since it's just this one vid I have in mind, it doesn't really seem worth the money.

Sadly, vidding is neither cheap nor free. And the cheaper the program often the more frustrating it is. Also, there will be a learning curve. :( But! Also a great deal of fun!
Anyway - here's a *heap* of vidding tutes and meta and stuff.
[livejournal.com profile] vidding is the main lj non-anime vidding community. Go there for vid announcements and vidding help, but check the memories first to see if your question has already been answered.

Oh, and you can edit with iMovie, which is free if you have a mac (although I don't think you do?) Anyway, if you can get hold of it, you might find [livejournal.com profile] mac_vidding_101 useful.
